The Pedigree Foundation has awarded over $4 million in grants to non-profit dog rescue groups and animal shelters since 1998, and the program has been renewed for 2012. Applications for Innovation Grants will be accepted through June 29th.
Innovation Grants were awarded to seven animal shelters in 2011. Each successful applicant demonstrated creativity in their efforts to increase dog adoptions. Last year's winners included an obedience training program that introduced high risk youth to shelter dogs, an emergency humane transport service, and behavioral modification programs.
