New Vet School Announced

Midwestern University has announced the establishment of a College of Veterinary Medicine at its Glendale campus. This veterinary school will be the first of its kind in Arizona, and it is scheduled to welcome the initial class of students in the fall of 2014.

Studies by the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges indicate that the supply of qualified veterinarians will not be able to meet the demand in the United States over the next decade. Arizona is one of the states facing a severe shortage of practitioners, so it is hoped that this new veterinary program will attract small animal, large animal, and equine veterinarians to the area.
