Animal health firm Merial reported today that it has completed the acquisition of Newport Laboratories. Newport Laboratories is best known in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry as a producer of vaccines for use in swine and cattle.
This purchase is expected to bolster Merial's vaccine production revenues as it will link the firm to beef cattle farmers, dairy farmers, and swine farmers who utilize the animal health products formulated by Newport.
