The Reassessment Campaign on Veterinary Resuscitation (RECOVER) has published new guidelines for resuscitating dogs or cats suffering from cardiac arrest in the latest Journal of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. The RECOVER initiative was directed by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell University, and more than 100 board-certified specialists contributed to the guidelines.
The RECOVER group is creating an online certification program that will certify small animal veterinarians in the new veterinary CPR techniques. The multi-part article detailing RECOVER's findings is available here.
